Service Update
New Booking System from Thursday 26th June 2025
At The Brooke Surgery, our patients are our priority.
We’ve heard your concerns, we’ve listened to your feedback, and we’re making changes to improve the service we provide.
From Thursday 26th June 2025, we’ll be moving from AskMyGP to a new appointment booking system called ChatDoc. This new system uses WhatsApp to make booking quicker, easier and more accessible. It also allows us to offer longer booking hours and a smoother experience for patients.
We know that our recent booking hours, limited to 7am to 11am, have caused frustration for many of you. These reduced hours were a temporary measure while we recruited more staff and built a stronger team, and we’re pleased to share that we’ve welcomed new doctors to the surgery and can begin to offer more availability once again.
With ChatDoc, you’ll be able to message us directly through WhatsApp (on our usual number 0161 368 3312) between 7am and 1pm, Monday to Friday, to request an appointment or speak with a member of the team. The “Book Appointment” link on our website will now open a WhatsApp chat.
If you already use WhatsApp, there’s no need to register or sign up, simply click the link or message us using the same phone number as always.
For patients who don’t use WhatsApp, the link will guide you to download it on your phone or computer, and if you’d prefer not to use WhatsApp at all, you can still call us in the usual way using the same number.
This change is more than just a new system, it’s part of our wider commitment to offer better support, more timely care and a more personalised approach. The WhatsApp platform also helps us ask the right questions earlier, which means we can make faster clinical decisions and direct you to the right person or service.
With ChatDoc, we aim to respond to all messages within 48 hours, so that you’re not left waiting or chasing answers. We’re also reviewing our internal policies, including how we manage missed appointments, to ensure that every available slot is used to help those who need it most.
We understand that change can feel confusing, and we want this transition to be as smooth as possible. A full FAQ section will be available on our website (link updated appointment page here) to guide you through the process and answer common questions, step by step.
Thank you for your patience and for trusting us with your care. We’re here to help, and we remain committed to making things better for all of our patients.
